Short tour of 2 days: Marrakech - Sahara

Day 1: Jeep transfer from Marrakech via the High Atlas mountains - lunch in a country-style restaurant - Ouarzazate and the oases along the Draa river to Zagora, where you meet your desert guide. Invitation to tea at the organiser's home. Continue to desert, camel ride in dunes, dinner and overnight in tent of desert bivouac hotel.
Day 2: Return to Marrakech, on the way visit of old quranic library in Tamegrout and kasbahs possible; lunch in High Atlas village.
 
Short tour of 3 days: Marrakech - Sahara

2. From Marrakech to Sahara - Tours with 4WD Toyota Land Cruiser or similar   

 - Marrakech - Kashbah route - Dades Gorge -Merzouga/Erg Chebbi - Marrakech
 - Marrakech - Dades Gorge - Tazzarine - M'Hamid/Chegaga - Foum Zguid - Marrakech
 - Marrakech - Zagora - Erg Chegaga - Marrakech
       

Tour 1
Day 1: Marrakech - Dades Gorge
Travel over the Tizi n'Tichka Pass (2260m) while enjoying superb views of the High Atlas mountains and of the Berber villages on the way. Stop for lunch and travel on to the World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou. Continue through Ouarzazate and continue towards the Valley of Roses and the Dades valley on the road of 1000 kasbahs, passing by Skoura oasis with its authentic 17th century Kasbah. Stay overnight in a hotel in Dades Gorge.

Day 2: Dades Gorge - Merzouga/Erg Chebbi
Depart from Dades Gorge to Todra Gorge: massive rocks, rising to 300 m high walls in a narrow valley, thickly studded with different trees and Berber villages. After lunch in the gorge, get transported further into the desert to Merzouga, stop along the great sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, where you will have a choice to take a camel ride if you want (about one hour and a half) after we will go to fix our tent together on dunes.

Day 3: Merzouga - Daraa valley
After sunrise in the desert dunes, departure from Merzouga to Tazzarine, through beautiful desert and mountain landscapes, oasis with their kasbahs,  passing N'koub and Tansikht and coming down to the river Draa at Agdez. Along Draa river we will see villages built of clay surrounded by gardens. You will spend the third night near Agdz, in a historical kasbah Tamnougalt, situated in a wonderful place.

Day 4 : Tamnougalt/Draa valley - Marrakech
From Tamnougalt departure to Marrakech via Agdz, in Ouarzazate stop to visit one of its best Kasbah called "Kasbah Taourirt" and further on to Marrakech, which we will reach in the evening.

Tour 2
Day 1: Marrakech - Dades Gorge
Morning departure at 8 o’clock from your hotel/riad in Marrakesh to cross the High Atlas mountains. Behind Tichka (2260 m) pass, we leave the main road to take a side road to " Kasbah Teloue", which belonged to the Lords of the Atlas, the Glaoui family. From there you continue along the new and stunningly beautiful connecting road for lunch at Kasbah Ait Benhaddou - a World Heritage site. The road past Ouarzazate and further on to Skoura oasis, with numerous ancient kasbahs surrounded by palm trees. The route carries on through Kela’a M’gouna - the valley of roses - with a stop to buy cosmetic articles locally-made from the valley’s abundant roses. We finish this day in Dades Gorge in a hotel or riad.

Day 2: Dades Gorge - Tafraout/Sahara
In the morning departure for the road trip to Zagora via Tazarine, passing the Tizi-n-Tazazert mountain within the Saghro mountain area, and N'Kob, a small Berber town, is well known for his various castles (ksour).
We have lunch in Zagora, on the way to M'hamid we will stop in Tamgroute to visit the koran library and the pottery workshops. We then travel off-road through the palm oasis of Ouled Brahim and the Alfaija plain, climb up the Jebel Bani mountain range and continue cross country until we reach the hidden Berber village of Tafraout, where we will spend the night with nomad families. We thus have the chance to learn a little bit about their life and culture.

Day 3: Tafraout/Sahara - Erg Chegaga
After breakfast with the nomads of Tafraout, 4×4’s will take you through Sahara landscapes to the high dunes of Erg Chegaga, where you’ll pass the evening and night under the fascinating sky or in tent.

Day 4: Erg Chegaga - Lake Iriqui - Taznakht - Marrakech
After enjoying the sunrise in the desert and a big breakfast, you’ll take the track to Foum Zguid which leads through the area of national park "Lake Iriqui". Arriving at Taznakht for lunch and visiting cooperative of carpets,  travel back to Marrakech.

Tour 3
Day 1: Marrakech - Zagora
Your travel to Zagora begins with a drive across the high Atlas Mountains. Ascend through the 7,413-foot (2,260-meter) Tizi N'Tichka Pass and see beautiful villages suspended on the flanks of the mountains Stop for lunch and tour in the World heritage site of Ait Benhaddou. After lunch in Ouarzazate the Anti-Atlas is crossed on a winding mountain road before you reach the 200 km long Draa Valley with its hundreds of thousands of verdant date palms. The caravan city of Zagora will be your destination. Spend the night in a beautiful hotel or riad with dinner.

Day 2: Zagora - Sahara/Erg Chegaga
On the way to the door of Sahara,  M'Hamid, pass through Tamegroute with it's famous koranic library. The underground kasbah and the potteries are also worth visiting. You will reach M'Hamid where the Draa ends its run on the surface and ground and also the civilization ends. Lunch at a typical Moroccan restaurant, thereafter we continue off-road to Erg Chegaga, the largest dunes of Morocco. Enjoy the sunset on top of the dunes with a glas of Berber tea, then dinner and overnight in tents or under the stars.

Day 3: Erg Chegaga dunes - Marrakech
After sunrise and a solid breakfast, return to M'hamid, if you like, stop for shopping in Zagora, thereafter visit the kasbah of Tamnougalt near Agdz and continue the way to Ouarzazate via Tizi N'Tinffift. Inbetween breaks and stop for taking pictures. Then to Marrakech via Tizi N'Tichka.
